Xiaomi recently unveiled its debut electric vehicle, the SU7, in the Chinese market. With this Xiaomi has entered the electric vehicle segment with an aim to establish itself among top electric vehicle manufacturing companies in world. Xiaomi Chief Executive Lei Jun said at the unveiling. “By working hard over the next 15 to 20 years, we will become one of the world’s top 5 automakers, striving to lift China’s overall automobile industry,”Â
Customers have the option to choose between two powertrain configurations: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD). The electric sedan will be offered in three distinct variants upon its launch: SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max. These variations likely cater to different preferences and needs, providing consumers with a range of features and specifications.
The ‘SU’ in the Xiaomi SU7 stands for ‘Speed Ultra,’ emphasizing its focus on high-speed performance. The car can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 2.78 seconds, making it slightly quicker than the considerably more expensive Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
