Electronics brand LG has unveiled the Signature OLED T, a television with a transparent screen that was on display at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show held at Las Vegas in US.
The LG Signature OLED T stands out as the world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV, featuring a 77-inch OLED screen that utilizes organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology. Its transparent display allows it to seamlessly blend into its surroundings when turned off, offering the flexibility to serve as a room divider or be positioned against a window without obstructing the view.
This innovative television employs wireless video and audio transmission technology through LG’s Zero Connect Box, eliminating the need for traditional cables and providing users with the freedom to place the TV anywhere without being constrained by electrical outlets.
Powered by an artificial intelligence (AI) processor, the TV enhances picture quality, allowing users to switch between transparent and opaque settings to customize the appearance of on-screen content. The design options for the Signature OLED T include standalone, against-the-wall, and wall-mounted configurations, catering to various preferences and interior design choices.
When turned off, the TV becomes practically invisible, seamlessly blending into its environment and addressing the common issue of a “big black screen” in the room. Custom widgets, such as an “info-ticker” for weather updates and news alerts, enhance the user experience. Additionally, users have the option to transform the entire screen into an animated fish tank, adding a visually appealing element to the TV.
